12 Nov Foundation stone laid in Kecskemét

Zoltán Balog Minister of Human Capacities and György Matolcsy, dr. President of the Hungarian National Bank laid the foundation stone of the new campus wich is planned to have a useful area of 30 000 square meters, consist of 6 buildings and take in 1500 students. The new campus of economics of Kecskemét College is being built by the request of Pallas Athéné Domus Mentis Alapítvány. The architectural planning is executed by Lima Design Kft. and Bánáti + Hartvig Építész Iroda Kft. The envisaged campus will be a state-of-the-art educational institution, which represents a progressive trend in terms of both its architecture and functions. Nevertheless, it relies on traditional values and is based on the lay-out principles of renowned Anglo-Saxon universities, reconsidering and redefining such principles at the same time. The vision is one of a university that enables students to obtain useful and up-to-date skills and knowledge, based on research and hands-on experience.
The construction works are planned to be finished by 2017.
